Longleaf 522 Mortar Mix Type S - a preblended engineered mix of high grade professional quality sand and masonry cement.

Water Coverage/Yield:
1.25 gallons for each 80 lb. bag
80 lb bag will lay approximately:
- 12 each 8" concrete block
- 35 each standard bricks
One 3,000 lb bulk bag will lay approximately:
- 450 8" concrete blocks
- 1,350 standard bricks

Mixing Instructions:
Pour 80 lb. bag into wheelbarrow or mortar pan. Form a crater in the center of the dry mix for the addition of clean potable water. For multiple bags mix with a mechanical mixer. For best results the mortar mix should be mixed for 5 minutes, let rest for 2 minute and then mixed again for an additional 2 minutes.
For silo mixing: Use the same approximate water ratio and follow same procedures. Mix to a workable mix. Add more water if needed. Avoid a ‘soupy’ consistency. Excess water reduces strength and durability and may cause cracking. For consistency of finish and color, joints should be struck with consistent timing, avoiding early or late tooling.
Curing:
In hot or windy conditions keep the mortar damp for curing.
Wall should be protected and covered to retain moisture.
Caution:
Air, mix and substrate temperatures should be between 40°F (4°C) and 90°F (32°C) Should be no rain in the forecast for 24 hours of application. Do not over trowel or overwater. Protect from freezing for 24 hours. NOTE: Proper application and installation of all Longleaf products are the responsibility of the end user.
